After Eddie died we looked for a goat to adopt to keep Sparky company. We found Jeffrey at a goat rescue near Seattle. He and another young goat had been dropped off at the auction to be sold for slaughter. He was very sick and the rescue was called to pick them both up. The other baby didn't survive. Jeffrey lived in our laundry room for a couple of months before he was well enough to move in with Sparky. His favorite hobbies are napping in the sun and scratching his head on any unsuspecting human's behind.
Jeffrey has been one of our most beloved animal assisted therapy partners. He has always loved people and always loved being in contact with them. He was never interested in rough housing like some of the other goats. He just wants loving, scratches, grooming and hanging out time. He is sweet with all ages and as he has aged he has grown an epic beard on his chin and a couple on his back that highlight his uniqueness. He also has an odd sneezing thing he does on occasion that spews green snot like a paint sprayer. For some, this has been the fodder for horror - on a nice white shirt - which turns to laughter eventually and most often, especially for some of our young boy clients, sheer joy and elevating Jeffrey to Super Coolness!
