Karin Knight

Karin Knight earned a Master’s degree in School Counseling from Seattle University and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Whitman College. A Bainbridge Island native, she returned to her hometown after college to raise her family. Early in her career, she worked in the outdoor industry, holding positions at REI and serving as the Purchasing Manager for Outdoor Research, Inc. After taking a 15-year break to focus on her family, she re-entered the workforce as a K-8 School Counselor. She worked extensively in the South Kitsap and Bainbridge Island School Districts before retiring in 2020.
Karin comes to One Heart Wild with a myriad of experience supporting social service organizations that focus on mental health issues, dispute resolution, social emotional learning, and animal welfare. Her dedication to OHW stems from her strong belief in the healing power of the animal-human connection. In her free time you will find her in the mountains, on the golf course or puppy raising service dogs in training.
