Dixie came to One Heart Wild five years ago from a nonprofit organization that lost the lease on their land. Dixie was old and unrideable making her difficult to place with a typical family. After a 22-year career in a child therapeutic program, Dixie just needed a retirement home. It took her about six months of retirement before she decided to start joining our therapeutic sessions. She brings a wise and calming presence while keeping a bit of sass- which we love! She has deep relationships with her Spice Girl clan April, Rasa and Izzy. Dixie LOVES treats, but only if they don’t have pills hidden in them. She can sniff those suckers out a mile away. Her favorite activity is napping in the sun and watching the goings on at sanctuary.
